Future Sight - Oct 8th 2012

After SCG Open in Cincinnati, several cards are on the uptick:

Olivia Voldaren

She saw some early play in Grixis Control (a deck by Patrick Chapin) but the metagame shifted and she went back into our binders.  Jund Midrange brought Olivia Voldaren back as a control card and finisher.

Deathrite Shaman

This card is an important card in Zombie mirrors and Jund Control builds.

Elite Inquisitor

Did I mention that Zombies are popular?  This guy is due a price jump after seeing the metagame.

Garruk Relentless

The 4 drop planeswalker is getting a lot of love now in RUG, Jund, and Bant Control, as well as several midrange decks.

Armada Wurm

This guy was played in a variety of decks from mid range to reanimation to control decks.  Expect to see more of this guy (and his twin Wurm token) on battlefields near you.

Angel of Serenity

Speaking of creatures that had an impact, Angel of Serenity was impressive.  You might have missed her when she was spoiled but don't miss out.  You'll be seeing more of her destroying your board state very soon.

These next cards have a "buyer beware" clause attached:

Jace, Architect of Thought

Jace nearly doubled in price at the SCG Open this weekend but the decks that were using him, for the most part, did not do well as a whole.  The only archetype that had Jace in there 75 and made Top 16 was WUR Miracles.  Don't get me wrong, I think he's powerful but I don't think he is worth his $45-50 price tag, yet.
