Future Sight - Oct 15, 2012

After another week of SCG Opens as well as State Championships, we have some new cards to put on your watch list:

Sorin, Lord of Innistrad

This much hyped Planeswalker hasn't had much time in the spotlight.  He was used quite effectively by Marc Blesso to win the SCG Open in Providence.  Sorin provided both an anthem for Spirit and Wolf tokens and as a token producer of Vampires. It also showed up in Kevin Jones Esper Tokens list that finished 12th.  Considering all of the token hate cards, you are still seeing tokens played.

Snapcaster Mage

Speaking of cards getting played through all this hate, Snapcaster is still seeing his fair share of Standard play, even without his buddy Delver.  He's still showing his power, even though his moved into a more control shell than the aggro-control deck that was Delver.

Vraska the Unseen

Speaking of another Planeswalker seeing some more play, Vraska has moved up, both in maindeck and sideboards.  I've still seen most players use her for the kill action, but she's very dangerous if she starts to go on the up tick.

Garruk, Primal Hunter

Garruk, Primal Hunter also hasn't seen a lot of time in the spotlight, mostly due to a very restrictive cost that usually relegated him to mostly mono green decks.  With all the mana fixing now, Garruk Primal Hunter becomes a much better endgame than some of the other options if your playing G/x decks.  He's seeing more play in Jund Midrange and Bant Midrange decks.
